Oscar de la Renta vs. Glee Star Fashion’s Night Out at Saks
Oscar handing out roses on the main floor of Saks was the leading man as long lines snaked backed to the Dolce perfume counter to see him or Instagram a photo of the legend. Outside the papparazzi were staking out the employee entrance, the front store and the 50th Street side entrance awaiting the Glee star Darren Chriss. La Mer staff was handing out teeny samples, fit for Thumbalina, but free is free. Upstairs masses were waiting for Suno custom manicures.
At Bendels the drinks were flowing freely and some fashionistas on the elevator were so tipsy they kept thinking every floor was the main one. One 61 year old man was just happy to be in a slow moving elevator with six women. On the fourth floor Frederick Fekkai blowout freebie hunters were disappointed that a $75 package for blowout, makeup and manicure was the deal.
While fashionistas staked out the employee entrance at Bergdorf Goodman exiting her limo, with a tiny glimpse of Anna Wintour, she was quickly whisked away by heavy security detail, Bergdorf, others were happy with surprise samples which abounded outside the Fifth Avenue and 57th Street corner. Smart marketers at The New York Times and Pantene were handing out bags and samples.
